The refurbishment has greatly improved the hotel, although there are still a few things to be done. Rooms were found to be well furnished, equipped with comfortable beds and spotlessly clean. The location is within a short walk of the town centre, and the
Breakfast is generous, in fact the full English was too much for one guest! There are plenty of alternative breakfast choices. The cuisine is “good honest cooking” and the wines are not overpriced as in some establishments.
Guests found that the curtains in their room were inadequate for keeping out the light, and would have liked additional blackout blinds. Another guest found the hotel towels to be dirty.
Some guests found the waitress service at breakfast time unenthusiastic, and as a result felt the hotel to be slightly overpriced.
