About The Brentwood
The Brentwood is family-owned hotel in the southern Welsh resort of Porthcawl, and is found just 250 metres from the waterfront, adjacent to the main shopping area. The hotel is host to karaoke and live bands in the weekends, is heavily involved in the Porthcawl Jazz and Elvis Festivals and three golf courses can be found within three miles. Many of the 24 bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, and all come equipped with TVs, free Wi-Fi and tea and coffee-making facilities. Children are welcome and although all rooms are non-smoking, there is a designated smoking area. Breakfasts, evening meals in the bar/restaurant and Sunday lunches are served throughout the year, and plenty of dining options can be found in the surrounding blocks. The Kenfig National Nature Reserve is less than a ten-minute drive away from The Brentwood, Swansea is 19.1 miles and Cardiff a 28.4 mile trip.

Clean and good value for money.
While the rooms are basic, they are nice and clean, the outside areas are tidy despite the smokers, and the price found found to be very much worth it.

Lovely staff, delicious breakfast.
You will find the lovely and helpful staff will make you feel very welcome, and the cooked breakfasts every morning are delicious and just what the doctor ordered after a night out in the resort.

Therefore, there can be bar noise.
It is therefore unsurprising to hear that there can be some noise experienced in rooms from the bar, patrons outside and particularly the nights when entertainment is scheduled, but some rooms are quieter and you can get by if you take earplugs.

Some guests were of the opinion that The Brentwood could use some fresh paint, overall refurbishment and replacement/updating of some furnishings, but given the price most were not too bothered.

You may take a little while to get the right temperature and pressure in the shower, and a few guests have not been impressed with their overall shower experience.
