Many travellers have suggested that you bring your insect repellent with when you visit The Barefoot Eco. Despite the great efforts by hotel management, the mosquitos are difficult to get rid of. Regardless, if you use a good repellent it will do the trick.
Although the hotel is well-appointed and spotlessly clean, many guests have noticed that plastic bottles and other rubble is either blown across, or drifts across from the ocean and ends up along the beach in front of the hotel. Nonetheless staff do clean up whatever lands up around the hotel.
