Sweet Otël is three-star rated and located in the La Xerea district of Valencia, just a six-minute walk from Colon metro station. There are 12 rooms and suites at Sweet Otël. They include air conditioning, cable TV and free Wi-Fi. Facilities vary and feature: private terrace, sofa beds and glass partitioned shower. Suite upgrades have a Jacuzzi and minibar. The only penthouse also benefits from a kitchen, living area and terrace. There is a communal area in which guests can relax. Concierge, luggage storage, laundry, car hire and safety deposit box, are among the additional services. Disabled access is possible. Breakfast is served in the hotel bar area. Later dining nearby is at restaurants including: Cinnamon, La Utielana and Al Pomodoro. Convenience stores include: Comenaranjas, Cecoval and Unio Gremia. Valencia’s beaches are just over three miles away and the City of Arts and Sciences is a 30-minute bus journey.
Located close to the centre of Valencia, the hotel has none of the sanitised, clinical atmosphere that is associated with larger competitors. There's a very pleasant, cosy, feeling here; it really is a home from home. The location is great; on a nice, quiet, residential street. Plaza Reina is very nearby and from there, you can 'bus it' to the beach. Easy!
Pleasantly decorated, rooms are clean -and continue to be cleaned on a daily basis. Upgrades can include a Jacuzzi; well worth the bit extra, if the budget allows. Rooms are also very spacious and - for instance - a triple room is more like a spacious, two bedroom apartment. Wi-Fi is free + good and the air conditioning works! Towels, bedding etc; all are noticeably nice and fresh.
There are no facilities in the room but tea, coffee … and biscuits … are freely available at all times, in the lobby. There are plenty of reasonably priced restaurants and bars in the vicinity.
Come late afternoon, the reception desk closes for the day so guests are left to their own devices. There's a telephone number to ring in case of emergency, but it's not the same thing.
A word of caution: your credit card booking is likely to be processed in full - even before you arrive.
It's difficult to pick holes in anything very much. There are many aspects that are outstanding. Breakfast, though, is a bit dull and boring … when compared with other aspects.
