About Hotel Summercamp

Built in the late 1800s, The Hotel Summercamp is set in a grand old Victorian-era building on the oceanfront of Oaks Bluff, Martha’s Vineyard. With 95 rooms, guests can select from a standard room with twin beds to the Ocean View King Suite and various configurations in between. All rooms have private en-suites, air-conditioning and heating and TV as well as free Wi-Fi. The hotel has a large reception area with couches to relax in, or on the front porch in rocking chairs. The hotel is non-smoking throughout. Limited parking is available. The Hotel Summercamp does not have a restaurant or cafe, though there are a number of restaurants and cafes nearby. There’s a number of ways to get to the island of Martha’s Vineyard, bookings are required for the car ferry. There is a bicycle hire near to the hotel to tour the island.

Ocean Front Perspective

Located right on in the Oak Bluffs Harbor, guests loved the proximity to the water and views of the ocean beyond the small harbor. It is a short walk to most places of interest in town.

Lined with old rocking chairs, guests enjoyed sitting on the front porch of the Wesley Hotel with its old charm and admiring the views and the passers-by.

Needs a Refurb

While the hotel is clean and tidy for the most part, guests felt the décor of the hotel could do with a refurbishment to stop the chipped paint and peeling wallpaper and restore it to it's old beauty.

Wonky Wi-Fi

While the hotel offers free Wi-Fi, guests said it lacked power and could not reach some of the rooms. Wi-Fi is fast becoming a utility required by guests in their room for planning their trip and accessing travel documents online.

While the hotel does offer coffee and tea, unfortunately no breakfast is served at the Wesley Hotel. A number of guests mentioned this was a missed opportunity, especially with the dining room. However staff are quick to offer local places to eat.
