Lafayette Garden Inn has some decent food options onsite that keep guests happy, and are convenient when time is tight, or you just don't feel like leaving the property. Guests get a “two for one” special at the bar upon check-in, and also receive discounts towards IHOP.

You get what you pay for, which in this case, is comparable pricing for accommodations that aren't fancy, but aren't too bad. It's a fair enough place to use as a base, and a safe and relatively quiet spot to come and go to while you're in town.

Not all dog-friendly places turn out to be comfortable, but this hotel does indeed provide cozy accommodations and warm and welcoming service for canines and their humans. There are treats left for doggie guests, and a sizable area designated for them to stretch their legs at.

Several guests have had issues receiving cleaner and fresher linens and towels. It's disheartening at check-in to discover less than adequate sheets and towels, and even more so, when requests are not promptly attended to, or even ignored.

The plumbing needs better maintenance, as the toilets tend to constantly run, creating that annoying noise throughout your stay. Addressing this issue is also lackluster, so perhaps include earplugs with your luggage.

The furnishings and décor have seen much better and brighter days, and would thus be more rewarding if cared for, or replaced. Colors, textures, quality, and sturdiness aren't great, with it often feeling like you stepped back a couple of decades.
