This is a delightful gem of a place, with hosts, staff, and an ambience that inspires and evokes relaxation. Rooms are clean and lovely, and it's not unusual to fall in love with this as a popular place to return to.
The hosts at Station Farm Guest House put a lot into providing guests with a delicious and ample breakfast. Ingredients are locally sourced and their freshness clearly comes through, in the skilful way everything is prepared. It's a meal well remembered and appreciated.
With the inn as a base, you can easily get to surrounding markets and shopping, as well as historic sites and golf courses. It's a great quiet spot to come back after a day spent exploring all of the wonderful scenic views.
There's a slight disappointment with the rooms in that they're smaller than expected. It's not a major grievance, however it may make you feel cramped. It may also affect how luggage is spread out if you bring a lot.
Proximity to the train station has a downside because the noise may affect your sleep or quiet. The windows don't prevent much from coming though, and of course,if you need to keep the windows open, then you'll certainly hear it.
