The inn is housed in a colourful red brick building with contrasting long windows and a clock tower. This gives the inn a nice, rustic, countryside touch. Guests said that the setting of the inn is peaceful and it is the perfect place to unwind and relax in a beautiful atmosphere.
The en suite bathrooms are spacious and feature a bath tub as well as showers. The water flow from the shower was very powerful and there was abundant hot water available. The bathrooms were very clean and fluffy towels were provided. Moreover, guests were totally in awe of the free designer toiletries provided, which were of excellent quality.
Staff at the inn was helpful and friendly. They were always ready to assist the guests and had a cheerful face. Moreover, the staff was well aware of the surrounding area and guided the guests about the nearby places of interest as well modes of transport.
The property did not have an elevator. This made it difficult to move around for guests with mobility issues. Plus, carrying heavy luggage up and down the staircase was a challenge.
Some guests said that prices of the inn were more in line with that of a four-star hotel offering all the amenities likes a pool, fitness centre etc. They felt that the rates charged for the stay at the inn were exorbitant and were not worth the facilities provided.
Since the inn is located in a slightly isolated area in the quiet countryside of south Northumberland, some guests felt that it was difficult to locate the property. This problem was more evident during the night time.
