Hotel Spicy (Sorrento, Italy)

What's better than arriving at a hotel after a long journey, to be greeted by warm and friendly faces? Guests appreciated the pleasant staff, and were particularly thankful for their positive attitudes whenever any problems arose.

While some guests found themselves slightly disgruntled with various aspects of the hotel, many commented that Wi-Fi came in loud and clear, which did a lot to boost impressions of Spicy.

This hotel doesn't take itself too seriously, with young staff and a uniquely hip ambiance. Many guests liked the trendy vibe, which included pop art, interesting design details, and personality to spare. Guests said that their stay was anything but plain.

Some guests kept a tally of things that they thought were lacking. Basic rooms could have been more comfortable with storage space, tea and coffee making facilities, and a safe. Guests also took note of the absence of a lift, with a sometimes strenuous climb to rooms. The outside entrance also could have used a foot path and better lighting, according to visitors who thought that a few improvements would go a long way.

Taxi fees were an extra expense for some guests. While close to beaches and the idyllic Queen Giovanna natural basin, there wasn't a lot to do within walking distance of the hotel. Guests without a car were reliant on the bus, which seemed to run infrequently and didn't run in the evenings.

Depending which room you reserve, you might be left wishing for more space. Several guests were unhappy with cramped quarters, and many recommended splurging on the sea view rooms with a terrace for that extra bit of space.
