The famous Dutch painter made his home just a few doors away from Spencer Court, adding to the history of the surrounding area. Guests are able to do tours of all the historical events that occurred in Ramsgate, making the visit not only a leisurely one, but a learning experience too!

Guests staying at Spencer Court will find the central location very accommodating; with the waterfront, harbour and beach, as well as main street so nearby, nothing seems out of reach when visiting Ramsgate.

It’s becoming more and more common for hotels to ask guests to pay upfront, upon arrival. Some guests are not used to this and may find this to be strange, yet this is not all together a bad thing. It speeds up the check-out process, for guests that have to leave in a hurry.

The furnishings, and décor, at Spencer Court are fitting with the history of the town, and have deliberately been done that way in order to keep with the feel of the town. Guests used to modernity may find the place to be outdated, need to bear in mind exactly what they are paying for.

Unfortunately, the showers are fitted with curtains, and therefore if the curtains are not placed right, water will splash out into the rest of the bathroom. This can be cause for an upset, but not necessarily a reason to leave.
