Hotel Sparth House (Clayton-le-Moors, United Kingdom)

The hotel is situated in a quiet residential location and surrounded by its own private gardens both at the front and back of the building which provide a very peaceful and scenic backdrop. Guests appreciated the tranquil setting and also being within walking distance of many attractions as well as local amenities including shops, bars and restaurants.

During their free time many enjoyed sitting in front of the cosy open-fire in the hotel's comfortable lounge either reading or socialising with other guests. The manicured private gardens also proved popular with many especially during finer weather when guests could sit out on the patio with a few drinks and admire the picturesque views.

Guests complimented the members of staff as well as the owners who were often on hand to offer  assistance as well as helpful advice with regards to the local area. Many said that they felt at ease and well-looked after for the duration of their stay and appreciated the overall warm and hospitable atmosphere at the hotel.

Some of the guests mentioned that they could hear everything going on in the adjoining rooms due to the inadequate soundproofing. Others objected to being disturbed by loud music and noise at times when parties were held at the hotel and this mostly affected those who were near the function suite.

Those whose rooms were located on the upper floors said they found it quite tiring climbing the steep stairs especially upon arrival when many were carrying heavy pieces of luggage.

There were often too few members of staff available at breakfast which resulted in delays when it came to ordering food and replenishing items that had run out.
