Occupying a renovated 1950’s resort, Sparrows Lodge offers modern accommodation and leisure facilities just a short drive away from Palm Springs International Airport. The 20 en-suite rooms, many of which have private patios, feature wooden accents such as exposed beams and eye-catching artwork alongside ceiling fans and rainfall showers. The guest house is surrounded by its own tropical gardens which provide a very peaceful and picturesque backdrop. Those who came here to relax and unwind said they found it liberating not having televisions and phones in their rooms. Many of the popular attractions of Palm Springs are within walking distance as well as plenty of local bars and cafes which the guests found very convenient.
The food served at the on-site restaurant left a lasting impression on many who said that the dishes were full of flavour and made from quality local produce. Guests thoroughly enjoyed having their meals in the beautifully-presented courtyard, especially in the evenings when the fire pit is lit.
Guests mentioned individual members of staff by name and expressed their gratitude for being made to feel welcome and ate ease during their entire stay. All the members of staff were said to be attentive yet not intrusive and guests who had specific requests or issues said they were handled efficiently and effectively.
The continental breakfasts left quite a few guests disappointed as they objected to the limited amount of items available and mentioned that hot food such as eggs were not always on offer.
Guests objected to having too few amenities in their rooms and said that their stay would have been more comfortable and enjoyable if they had tea and coffee making facilities as well as minifridges.
One part of the guest house overlooks a rather busy road and guests whose rooms were on that particular side of the building said they were able to hear traffic noise which prevented them from opening their windows at night.
