The hotel architecture is lovely and interesting thought a great many guests. Many guests spoke appreciatively of the Mayan décor theme and frescoes, particularly in the exterior and the lobby of the hotel. The garden is lovely too.
Many guests spoke positively about their experiences with the staff at the hotel, describing them as friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff is efficient and room service is quick too. The pool is very nice, as is the waterfall feature, said guests.
Several guests at the Xbalamqué Resort & Spa thought that the levels of cleanliness were not up to the mark. Guests spoke of mold in the rooms and bathrooms, unclean sheets and pillows and poor air conditioning. Some guests felt that the complimentary breakfast offered was inadequate and of a poor quality and did not like the fact that breakfast tickets had to be collected each morning from the reception.
The hotel's central location means that there is a lot going on around there and many guests felt disturbed by musical events, clubs and Karaoke till well into the night.
Some guests thought that the location of the hotel was rather unsafe and some preferred not to be outdoors after dark.
