Many hotels in the Lake District advertise leisure facilities only for guests to find that they have to go to another hotel to use them, so having an indoor swimming pool is a real plus point for the Southview Guest House. Guests have really enjoyed taking a nice relaxing dip at the end of a day.
The breakfasts at Southview Guest House are well-regarded judging by the many reviews available. There are a number of different options for guests to choose from, ranging from a traditional cooked breakfast through to a variety of fish dishes, and all get a big thumbs up.
Southview Guest House is in a very central location in Windermere, which guests love as it means they are close to local pubs and restaurants, as well as the tourist-focused shops. However, despite being so central the hotel is described as being down a peaceful road, meaning there is not much noise disturbance on a night.
As can often be the case in older buildings, the Wi-Fi connection can leave something to be desired. That seems to be the case at Southview Guest House, with guests reporting the Wi-Fi signal to be weak despite being advertised as free throughout.
Guests love the jet-spa baths in superior rooms, but it has been noted there are no hand rails around the bath area to help guests get in and out. Unfortunately, this has meant less-mobile guests have been unable to take advantage of the facility.
Free private parking is available, but it can be a squeeze fitting into the tight car park. Fortunately, staff are happy to help any guests who have trouble parking their car.
