Along the beautiful West Coast you will find one of the oldest fishing villages in South Africa. Paternoster has become a destination of choice for both international as well as local travellers. Paternoster is known for its long white beaches, white-washed houses and colourful fishing boats. You would be forgiven for thinking you are in the Mediteranean. Only one and a half hours from Cape Town. Paternoster is the ideal base from which to explore the West Coast, both along the coast and inland. Situated on the quieter side of Paternoster and a mere 50 meters from the beach. Within easy walking distance of the main village, where you will find most of the restaurants, shops and art galleries. With an increase in people travelling with pets and young children, we decided to offer excellent family friendly, and pet friendly accommodation. All this at a reasonable rate. We firmly believe that this is what you can expect from The Smugglers’ Cottage bed and breakfast in Paternoster. Spacious and comfortable rooms, together with excellent personal service from our experienced staff, will ensure your stay is memorable. For the more discerning smuggler, please note that we do not have televisions in the rooms.  And WiFi connectivity is as slow as everything else on the West Coast.
