The hotel's Cliftonville vantage point right beside the cliff top ensures many of its rooms afford some really lovely sea views. Watching the sun go down at the end of a nice clear day can be a real treat here.

You know you're in a customer-centric venue when the staff routinely remember the names of returning visitors as soon as they walk in the door. Impressive.

The simple yet invaluable combination of good quality mattresses and lovely fresh bedding ensures getting off to sleep is rarely an issue in this hotel.

Although the hotel's public areas have experienced recent renovation, it is evident that no form of investment has yet reached the guest rooms. It is a shame as, with a little more care and attention, this Edwardian hotel's accommodations could look very nice indeed.

Although there is a lift serving all floors, it is important to note that some rooms have stairs leading up to them or even in the rooms themselves. Something for those with mobility issues to bear in mind.

A good number of the hotel's guest rooms are fitted with curtains which aren't overly effective at keeping light at bay. Whilst this isn't a problem in the winter time, it can be pretty irritating during the summer months.
