Shayamoya Tiger Fishing and Game Lodge is a truly unique lodge in Northern KwaZulu Natal where the view from the spectacular setting is particularly breathtaking as you gaze out onto Lake Jozini, the Lebombo Mountains and the Pongola Game Reserves. At the gateway to KZN and the Swaziland border post, 8km from Golela, it is an ideal stopover when travelling from Kruger Park to Natal resorts. Stay for 2 nights at least, the safari boat cruise on Lake Jozini is a must! Also on offer are game drives, and if fishing is your thing, try your luck at tiger fishing! The only water in SA home to this ferocious fighting freshwater fish. Privately managed by a family who have lived in the area for many years, Shayamoya exudes a warm and friendly atmosphere. Accommodation in a private chalet with en-suite bathroom, outdoor enclosed shower, and private viewing deck. The restaurant serves a full English breakfast, has an à la carte menu for lunch and dinners which we alternate with a braai or buffet. The spectacular indigenous garden is in full bloom in Winter, with over 60 species of aloes and succulents, attracting an array of sunbirds to the decks.
