Hotel Shanti Morada (Calangute, India)

If you like peace and quiet, then the location is excellent. A few minutes' drive from all the action Goa has to offer, yet in the most scenic and peaceful location. Just the place to calm down and recharge one's batteries.

The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable as well as beautifully furnished and decorated. The hotel aims to give the feeling of staying in a boutique hotel, which showcases classical Indian art, culture and cuisine.

The staff members here are well-trained professionals who interact with guests of all nationalities and make them feel welcome. The standard of service here is extremely high and the guests of various nationalities speak glowingly of the service, which in many cases, run round the clock. The General Manager Amar, the chef Adil, the driver Manchit and another staff member, Sonali, have all been mentioned as being particularly dedicated.

There are few problems here, but one is a scarcity of hot water, especially when it's needed for showers and freshening up in the morning. Another problem which affects certain guests is the fact that the TV cannot be viewed from the bed, which can cause some inconvenience.

Some of the guests felt very bad because the breakfast was the same, day after day. It was also quite high on dairy produce, because apparently it had nothing for vegans, although vegan dinners are prepared on request in the evening.

Massage is available, but as only ‘masseurs' (male) were present and no “masseuses' (female), it isn't possible for female guests to get a massage, which some find disappointing.
