Hotel Scandic Helsfyr (Oslo, Norway)

There is a large range of items available at breakfast and all the food is of a very good quality. Many guests have reported breakfast as being one of the highlights of their stay.

Rooms are adequately sized, very comfortable and kept clean by housekeeping staff. The bathrooms are inviting and the showers benefit from good water pressure. Guests feel like the accommodation is good value for the price paid. Free Wi-Fi is provided for guests needing to keep in touch with home/work.

This area does get very cold and icy at times yet the hotel is kept warm and cosy for guests. The windows do open slightly allowing you let fresh air into the room if required. Staff are also very friendly, attentive and approachable.

At peak times the breakfast area can get quite busy and you may struggle to get a table. The staff work hard to try and keep all the food replenished but it does feel like more staff are needed to make it run a little smoother.

The restaurant is adequate and food reasonable however guests have not been bowled over by the dining facilities. They feel that the food quality needs improving, that the kitchen needs to check food is hot enough before sending to the table, staff need to ensure there are English copies of the menu available, the prices need to come down a little and that the hotel needs to hire more staff to ensure good customer service.

This accommodation is not located in central Oslo, instead it is about ten minutes' away via the underground, which is about five minutes away from the hotel on foot. There is not much in the immediate vicinity so you may wish to buy supplies at the station to take with you.
