Samasati Nature Retreat in Costa Rica is a Hotel Lodge nestled in a 250 acres Biological Reserve, overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Being six hundred feet above the water, the facilities are blessed with breeze and a cool temperature. Only 4 miles away from gorgeous Caribbean beaches, this unique Hotel opened in 1997 and has been a pioneer sustainable business in Costa Rica. ACCOMMODATIONS: Accommodations consist of Private Cottages (private bath), Lodge Classic Rooms (shared bath) and fully equipped 2-bedrooms elegant Private Houses. The Private Cottages are surrounded by tropical gardens and have outstanding views of the ocean and the rainforest. Secluded and romantic Honeymoon Cottages are tucked away in the jungle with queen or king size beds. A few Cottages have lofts, enabling to accommodate two people in separate spaces - upstairs and downstairs - and up to three or four people in single and full size beds. AMENITIES: The open-air restaurant overlooking the water offers homemade gourmet international vegetarian food. A large hot tub with spectacular view of the Caribbean is open seasonally. Shuttle to the beach is included in the rates. Daily Yoga classes are offered for beginners and advanced students as well. Massages and Spa Treatments made out of organic local ingredients are a nice treat that adds to any vacation. Jungle trails are crisscrossing the 250 acres Samasati Biological Reserve, where the Hotel is located. A detailed map is available at reception so guests can visit waterfalls, streams and other wonders of the primary rainforest. AREA ATTRACTIONS: The South Caribbean is rich of natural beauty and still untouched. A few highlights in the area's activities are : the ziplining canopy tour , sea and river kayaking, snorkeling, treks to jungle waterfalls, visits to protected areas such as Cahuita National Park, Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge and the Cabecar o Bri Bri Indigenous Reserves.
