Occupying a double-fronted detached house, Rusheen Bay House offers comfortable accommodation as well as boasting scenic views of the Galway Bay. The subtly decorated rooms, some of which have coastal views, are furnished with rustic pine furniture and feature a range of amenities such as cable televisions, DVD players, hairdryers, ironing equipment and tea and coffee making facilities. Guests staying at Rusheen Bay House can read books and play board games in the comfortable lounge as well as soak up the rays on the private terrace. Free on-site parking is also available. Continental and freshly prepared breakfasts are available on-site whilst guests can enjoy their lunch and evening meals at some of the local cafes and restaurants such as the Galleon Restaurant, The Fisherman Seafood Bar & Grill and O’Connor’s Famous Pub. Galway Aquarium, Galway Golf Club and Rusheen Riding Centre are all within two miles of the guest house.
The guest house is a short walk away from the beach and the promenade which guests described as being very convenient. Many also found it handy having restaurants, pubs and a supermarket within walking distance of their accommodation.
Many of the rooms look out onto Galway Bay and guests said that they thoroughly enjoyed the sea views from their large bay windows. The rooms are equipped with a wide range of mod-cons such as jet-tubs, DVD players and cable televisions which prompted many to conclude that they had everything they needed for a comfortable stay.
Guests enjoyed spending time on the balcony where they were able to enjoy their breakfasts during finer weather as well as take in the scenic views. In the evenings, many chose to sit in the cosy and comfortable lounge where they could leaf through the collection of books or simply relax and admire the sunsets over the bay.
The guest house is not within walking distance of the town centre a and quite a few guests found it rather inconvenient having to either get the bus or drive to the centre of Galway.
Guests who wanted to connect to the Internet from their rooms said that they experienced difficulties due to the rather weak and intermittent Wi-Fi signal.
Guests said that they found showering at the guest house rather cumbersome due to the low water pressure whilst others mentioned that they had to struggle to adjust the right temperature. The plumbing were also said to be rather noisy as guests were able to hear water running from adjoining rooms.
