You can step right outside the hotel into Grote Square, putting you close to the cathedral as well as the old town area. Generally, guests were pleased with the size of their rooms. Many commented on how spacious the rooms were for the cost. They also liked the private outdoor patio.
For the most part, guests enjoyed the hotel's continental breakfast. But remember to get there early or they may run out of the more popular items as some guests lamented there was nothing left for late risers.
The hotel shows its age. Several guests noted that the interior is in need of modernising, and that items like the toilet, air conditioner and the TV look worn out. They said that the hotel just felt too old-fashioned and should step up the maintenance.
There have been complaints about strange smells emanating from the hotel hallway and the bathrooms. Some visitors complained that the issue wasn't taken care of despite complaints.
Several guests said they were disappointed with the quality of the hotel towels, which many observed as too thin, worn out or “50 shades of grey.” They suggested that the quality fell short of the expectations for a four-star hotel.
