Convenient Location

Royal Breakwater features a great location. The hotel is within walking distance of the harbour, and features beautiful views of the marina. In addition, guests say it is ideal for visiting Portland Bill and Weymouth.

Old and Outdated

Many guests found the hotel a bit outdated and highly recommend renovations. The building needs to be refurbished, and the rooms need cosmetic refreshing, an upgrade on the furniture, and new linens. In addition, guests thought that the ratio of rooms per bathroom is too high and additional bathrooms need to be installed.

So-So Soundproofing

While most guests didn't have a problem, some thought that the rooms were poorly soundproofed and on select nights, very noisy due to the downstairs pub. This may be a more likely problem on the weekends. If you're a light sleeper, you may want to ask for a higher floor room, and bring some earplugs along just in case.
