The restaurant seemed to be a beehive of activity, and guests were right to assume that a busy restaurant means fantastic food. Many enjoyed the homey, friendly atmosphere, and particularly liked the delicious breakfast.
A great location was one of the best things about the Rose & Crown. Shops and restaurants were easy accessible, and guests liked how they could efficiently get around from here.
If you have a room located at the front of the building or over the bar, you might be discouraged by unwelcome sounds. The age of the hotel and the location meant that street noise was sometimes heard, and several guests also reported lively functions that went on until late.
Bathrooms should be next in line for an overhaul, according to guests who saw some room for improvement. Older fixtures and generally tired decor were in sharp contrast to the rest of the hotel. A few guests also had the unpleasant experience of not enough hot water for their shower, but thankfully, this seemed to be an uncommon occurrence.
There were no extras here. Guests said that straightforward accommodation did the job, but that it was also nothing special, with things like an iron and hair dryer noticeably missing.
