Hotel Roma (Syracuse, Italy)

The location is breath-taking and the hotel is located behind the Piazza Duomo in the old city of Syracuse, Italy. So all the tourist and restaurant spots are mere footsteps from the hotel's doors.

The rooms are spotless, and have been praised for this on a continuous basis, as well as having free in-room phone service and fast Wi-Fi as part of the deal. The television, along with the other technology in the room, works excellently as well, though it is all in Italian.

The staff is very friendly and have a willingness to go above and beyond their duties to make sure you have a pleasant time in Syracuse. All the staff are very approachable and knowledgeable about the city itself as well as the hotel.

If you want to have coffee make sure you allow time for it in the mornings. The coffee is made fresh so it takes a while to get. Perhaps having a quick cuppa in the room before coming down is advantageous, guests will often suggest.

The bar and grill that are located inside the hotel are not owned by the hotel, which means that the prices are higher than other restaurants. Most guests who stay at the hotel don't eat there, but opt, instead, for the various eateries nearby.

There are several festivals that go on through the year in Syracuse and if you stay at the hotel during one of these times, service may be less than optimal, due to the larger than usual crowds.
