The garden terrace offers beautiful views and is the perfect spot for a relaxing drink. Free parking is available opposite Rockwood House. A complimentary breakfast is served every day – guests can choose a full English breakfast or something a little lighter. For other meals, the Elm Tree Inn is a popular choice. It’s just across the road and offers a range of traditional pub meals. An eight-minute drive away, Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway is a must for rail enthusiasts. The town of Skipton with its castle and shops is five miles away.

If you are planning to explore the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park, then you'll love Rockwood House. The Dales are a stone's throw away which means it's easy to go hiking for the day. The little village of Embsay is also popular with guests who have stayed here - there are a couple of nice pubs which serve food and the village is quiet and relaxing.
For the most part, guests found the owners of Rockwood House very friendly. It seems that they are keen to offer assistance when required but are equally happy to leave guests to enjoy their stay in peace.
Guests report that the rooms at this bed and breakfast are kept very clean and that the décor is tasteful and welcoming. The beds are also comfortable and offer a restful night's sleep.
Some guests were a little disappointed with the size of the showers which they felt were too small and cramped. There are also reports that the pressure of the water is inadequate and that it can take up to three minutes for the water to get hot enough for a pleasant shower.
Rockwood House operates a small check-in window in the late afternoon and some guests found this problematic. On a couple of occasions guests had to wait for the owners to return before gaining entry to their rooms.
The perceived lack of complimentary toiletries was an issue for a few guests. There was also confusion over the usability of what some thought was just hand wash but was actually both a hand wash and shower gel.
