Many guests were complimentary about the decor of their rooms describing it as stylish and tasteful with quality furniture and upholstery. The rooms have all the necessary amenities plus little extras including coffee makers, complimentary chocolates and branded toiletries. Large and comfortable beds and modern spacious bathrooms were also greatly appreciated.
Those who visited the spa said that they thoroughly enjoyed the experience which many described as the highlight of their stay. The pool and the surrounding area was said to be clean and well presented whilst the treatments were also highly praised as well as the friendly and experienced therapy staff.
Guests who dined at the on-site restaurants said that the quality of food exceeded their expectations on many levels. The flavours and the quality of ingredients were highly praised as well as the presentation of the dishes. Many were also pleased to find a wide variety of menus on offer, from the formal Orangery through to the lighter meals on offer at the Clubhouse.
Some of the guests whose rooms were located in the new extension objected having to walk to the main building in order to get to the restaurant and the spa particularly during bad weather as the area is unsheltered.
The hotel is a popular venue for wedding receptions which inconvenienced some guests whose rooms were close to the function suite. Loud music and noise from the revelers prevented some guests from getting a good night’s sleep.
Guests were disappointed with the quality of the cooked breakfasts stating that the food wasn’t well prepared and didn’t taste fresh. Some also objected to waiting longer than expected to receive their orders.
