Hotel Rio Playa Blanca (Playa Blanca, Spain)

The location of HL Rio Playa Blanca is in the tranquil village of Playa Blanca with beaches and islands close by. It is the perfect holiday destination for families for indulging in water sports and enjoying lovely views of the sea, and the Lobos and Fuertaventura islands. Guests with a penchant for outdoor activities have great opportunities for hiking and trekking. Some more holiday fun can be had at The Timanfaya National Park which is just a short drive from the resort.

The resort has one or two bedroom bungalows for accommodating guests. All the bungalows feature a terrace with a seating area and a lounge with dining area. The bungalows are air conditioned and equipped with satellite television and en suite bathrooms. A fully equipped American style kitchen is another feature.

The resort has various facilities for activities like swimming and games. There is a lagoon style pool and one swimming pool for children. A multi-sport and tennis court along with a mini-club for children is present onsite. There is a sun terrace where guests can relax on the loungers provided. The restaurant of the resort serves buffet style meals. The menu features an international fare with show cooking and themed dinners being an attraction in the evenings. There is an open air podium where animation and discos for children are organised as part of the evening entertainment. Off street parking is free.

Rooms appear old as the paint and plaster on the walls are cracking. Beds are uncomfortable and extra bed requested for is not provided.

Equipment around the pool like sun beds and parasol are limited and guests arriving later than eight in the mornings do not get to use them. This poses a difficulty especially when children have to use the pool.

Staff is unfriendly and do not help with issues related to extra beds and food availability at the restaurants. Food is below average and the same menu is repeated almost every night. Activities for entertainment are also not very engaging.
