The hotel's slightly odd set-up (it's up on a mezzanine level and across a courtyard bridge, away from the street) ensures you hear very little street noise, even though you're effectively staying right in the very heart of the resort.
Don't let the laid-back vibe fool you, the personnel here are actually a very effectual bunch who know exactly what it takes to keep their guests happy.

Having to climb up and down the stairs to reach the mezzanine level every time you leave and return to the hotel can be a major hassle. Something to bear in mind if you (or someone in your party) has any mobility issues.
It may not be the most luxurious or attractive-looking hotel in Nice but it has to be said, when you take into account the amazing location and the relative peace and quiet, the Rex punches well above its weight.
