About Residencial Monaco

Residencial Monaco is a 2 star rated hostel in Funchal, on the Portuguese island of Madeira. Rooms are en-suite with colour television and telephone.  They are cleaned on a daily basis and towels are supplied. Room access is via a lift.  Free Wi-Fi is available in the communal lounge, in addition to a small refrigerator and tea/coffee facilities.  Reception is ‘open all hours’; plus, there is a car rental facility and small roof terrace. Breakfast is continental in style and features fresh fruits from the island.  The English speaking Sirius Bar is opposite Residencial Monaco and just down the hill, is a well stocked supermarket. There are many restaurants, bars, cafes and shops  within easy walking distance. The Natural History Museum is a 5 minute walk away and for many, the 20 minute drive to Madeira’s airport is the only occasion where transport is required.

That all important 1st impression is that the place is clean. You won’t be disappointed; nor will you be surprised when your room is cleaned on a daily basis.

If you ever get tired of Madeira – and very few do – you can always hop on a ferry and take a trip to Porto Santo ... and another piece of paradise.

Breakfast is continental style, but more than adequate. The fruit element is fantastic + where else could you enjoy freshly picked bananas from just a few miles away!

Light sleepers are likely to be disturbed as a result of the street noise.

The fridge and tea and coffee facilities are in the reception area. The ideal, of course, is that they are actually in the room.
