The breakfast here is great. There are lots of choices on the menu, including vegetarian options. It's tasty, filling and will set you up well for the day ahead.

Obviously because the building is hundreds of years old, there is no lift and there are some pretty narrow and steep stairs to navigate, especially if you are travelling with luggage. Some of the ceilings are low and the floors uneven and sloping, so watch your step.

As you might expect from an old building, the rooms at Red Lion are rather on the small side. They are comfy enough, but don't expect much space in which to spread out. The same can be said of the showers.

Whole road links are good, using public transport can be trickier. The hotel is served especially well by buses or trains and the major attractions in the area are certainly a drive away.
