Hotel Ramblas Portaferrissa (Barcelona, Spain)

Guests found Ramblas Portaferrissa to be very well placed for exploration, with its Gothic Quarter locale also proving to be a few minutes from Las Ramblas, lots of shopping, and good public transport links.

The rooms here are cheap — one of the main attractions — some have a balcony overlooking Carrer de la Portaferrissa and the simple kitchen facilities were handy to some.

Some who stayed said the staff can be helpful and welcoming and friendly, but on the flipside, others said it can be hard to get hold of staff for check-in since there is no reception, and a few guests found the staff they dealt with to be a bit rude and unprofessional.

The lack of air conditioning at Ramblas Portaferrissa, combined with the lack of windows in most of the rooms meant some found their quarters too hot and stuffy.

Those who stayed found the guesthouse to be in need of upgrading, with some parts of the guest house reportedly in disrepair and in need of maintenance. However, many of those who stayed did not mind so much given the very cheap price.

With just one shared bathroom between four rooms, some guests said that the hot water very quickly runs out, leaving just a cold shower option.
