Hotel Ramada Orlando Downtown (Orlando, USA)

The property is under new management and much-needed gradual refurbishments are taking place.  The price is the greatest draw - if you need a budget accommodation close to Universal Studios and downtown Orlando (it's a twenty-minute drive from this hotel to both areas), you've found your spot.  However, be sure you aren't looking for the least bit of luxury, because you won't find it here.

Helpful and efficient staff appear to do the best they can with what they've got.

Some rooms are adequate.  Ask for a newly refurbished unit or a pool view if possible.  Towels are usually soft, and mattresses are in decent condition (for the most part.)

Ants and roaches make their homes here.  Although pest control visits regularly, this infestation is not controlled well - most concerning is their consistent presence in the dining area.

Although the new management is gradually renovating the place, there are still areas in very poor condition.  The lobby is misleading as it has been refurbished first - but ask to see your room before you pay or run a deposit on your card. Some rooms' door locks don't function properly due to corrosion and wear.  Threadbare carpeting, paint chipping, bad plumbing, weak Wi-Fi and poor telephone reception are all problems here. Overall, the neighborhood in general is not great.

Some checked in to find moldy bathrooms, hairs in sinks and on sheets/towels, stinky carpets (even the non-smoking rooms reek of smoke), no liners in the trash cans, sparse shower curtains that leave the whole bathroom wet, no alarm clocks, no safes, missing light bulbs, missing towels and no washcloths whatsoever, even upon request.  Many were told, "We are out of them"  without further explanation!
