Hotel Ramada By Wyndham Maggie Valley (Maggie Valley, USA)

It seems that no matter where you are at this property, the view is simply grand. Those who had creek-facing rooms loved hearing the gentle babble of its waters first thing in the morning. Meanwhile, those with mountain views just couldn't get enough of those majestic Smokies. If that wasn't enough, private balcony access added that special wow factor to already stunning scenery.

Some felt that this hotel was just like being inside of a log cabin. If anything, that down-home feeling was amplified by the warm friendliness of the staff here, who seem to go out of their way to provide assistance and even make itineraries for out-of-town guests.

While the property advertises that it serves a daily continental breakfast, it appears that there are also some hot items available. No one's complaining; in fact, guests are just delighted to have the variety.

While it definitely has a rustic appeal, for some, this property is really in need of a facelift. Many find that it has an old, dated feel to it, a quality that extends to the in-room ambience.

There were some reports of bugs here, but for many, general housekeeping was more of an issue. Cigarette burns were reported on linens, sheets and even lampshades. A few guests also noted hair in showers and basins and some also commented on odd odors in their rooms.

The property doesn't advertise that its pool is of especially grand dimensions, but for a number of guests, the size of this amenity was rather disappointing. For others - older guests in particular - the lack of an elevator was a more serious issue.
