Hotel Quality Inn & Conference Centre Downtown Sudbury (Sudbury, Canada)

Easy to get to and close to nearly all of the major attractions (and Downtown area) in Sudbury; this hotel makes a great base from which to explore. Being within a very easy walk of the Sudbury Arena is a massive bonus, too.

Many visitors have had nothing but good things to say about the warm and generally very welcoming staff members working at this hotel. The knowledgeable and helpful reception team came in for particular praise.

This hotel is literally right next door to the much-loved Bridge of Nations, an elevated motorway lined with the flags of our planet’s many different nations. It’s not every day you get to wake up to a view of an iconic local landmark, is it?

As well as being rather small, the car park here is littered with pot holes, especially near the entrance where some of them resemble small craters. You’ll also need to be very careful on snowy days as there's a pretty significant incline of about 30% to negotiate.

It’s fair to say that the area where the hotel is based isn’t exactly the most welcoming part of Sudbury you could hope to find. Indeed, things can feel somewhat intimidating and ‘edgy’ once the sun goes down...

There is a train yard directly south of the hotel which, quite unsurprisingly, generates quite a lot of noise. If you don’t want to be woken by the sound of locomotives warming up their engines at four in the morning, every morning, then request a room at the back of the building.
