Situated in the La Orotava Valley in the North of Tenerife, the Maritim Hotel Tenerife enjoys views stretching across the Atlantic Ocean and Teide Mountain. Rooms are decorated in a neutral colour scheme and include a balcony, air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar and safe. Suites have separate living areas and are spacious; spread over 60sqm. Among the 40,000sqm of subtropical landscaped gardens, guests can enjoy three freshwater swimming pools, sunbathing terraces, mini golf, three tennis courts, paddle courts and a children's play area. Loro Parque is just 0.5km from the hotel, Puerto de la Cruz town is 2km away and Tenerife North Airport can be reached within 25-minutes.

Walking through the vast gardens, soaking in one of the three freshwater pools, or sipping on a cocktail, looking out to sea from the glass-fronted bar; there is plenty here to help you relax. Choose a seafront room if you wish to fall asleep to the sounds of waves crashing on the shore.
Puerto de la Cruz town is just 2km but, given Tenerife's notoriously hilly terrain, you may wish to make use of the hotel's complimentary shuttle. If you're wanting to stop out past the last bus, taxis are easy to come by and you should get change from ten euros.
Both hot and cold items are served at breakfast, with fresh orange juice provided and, at dinner, a vast selection of both International and Regional food. The menu changes daily, and most find something which suits their tastes.
Contrary to what you might expect, the Maritim Tenerife building is more akin to the high-rise top block you might see in a City than a typical seafront hotel. At 18-storeys high, the hotel is rather unusual in its layout and, for some, looks out of place.
The hotel, popular with an older generation of German tourist, may be a little too peaceful for some. There is a gym, pools, tennis and paddle courts to keep you busy in the day, but some are surprised that there is no form of entertainment in the evenings- particularly for younger guests.
Some parts of the hotel are beginning to look dated, there is a shortage of electrical sockets and the carpets in the rooms are widely criticised; perhaps not the best choice given the climate.
