With many features of a small hotel, the seven room, smoke-free Powys Lodge is a short walk from the beach and Scarborough town centre. The hotel’s seven en-suite rooms feature flat screen TVs, hair dryers, coffee making facilities and minibars. Family rooms are also available. Powys Lodge features a guest lounge and free Wi-Fi access. Guests can park in the small lot, or receive complimentary street parking permits. Wi-Fi access is available in communal areas. Guests receive complimentary hot breakfast and there are numerous cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance. Powys Lodge is convenient to Scarborough town centre and close to the beach, harbour and amusement park. Guests can ride an open top bus to attractions such as the Sea Life Centre and North Bay Railways. The North Yorkshire Moors are an easy drive.
With her bubbly personality and friendly welcome, Tina the landlady was tops with guests at Powys Lodge. They said she made them feel welcome from the moment they stepped through the front door and described her as a breath of fresh air. Many guests said Tina was one of the best things about their stay and, because of her, they would definitely return to Powys Lodge.
Absolutely no stale cabbage smells or lingering cigarette odours at Powys! From the front entrance to the dining room to the light and spacious bedrooms, guests report that guest house was spotless and immaculate. They described it modern and comfortable, uncluttered and beautifully decorated. In short, Powys Lodge is a little gem.
Praise for Powys Lodge extended to the complimentary cooked breakfasts which guests report was plentiful and delicious with locally sourced foods. They gave top marks to the service too which was described as efficient and friendly.
Guests had no major criticisms about Powys Lodge other than to note that some of the double rooms are a bit small. This did not dampen their enthusiasm for the establishment and most said they would definitely return.
