Hotel Portside Whitsunday (Airlie Beach, Australia)

Guests were really pleased with the amount of space in the rooms, also leaving comments that there was ample space in the bathrooms to get ready for their day.

The hotel is a short five minute stroll from Airlie Beach's shopping street which has a number of restaurants and bars to choose from. The location was spot on for most who commented that the easy access to the Marina, Harbour and main street was the best part of their stay.

The hotel is just opposite the Marina and offers visitors panoramic views of the moored boats and across to an handful of islands in the distance.  For many the views were the highlight of their stay. The roof top hot tub from which to enjoy the sunset vistas was very popular with guests.

Guests commented that the hotel could benefit from a range of upgrades so that it deserves that five star rating that is advertised. Guests expecting luxury touches and superior furniture were sorely disappointed and their reviews reflected this.

A number of guests with an eye for detail and an aversion to the built up soap scum and mould in the shower, left comments that the hotel needs to invest in a deep clean to clear away the obvious build-up of grim. Guests also commented that some of the tiles in the outdoor area could use a good scrub.

Guests who wanted total peace and quiet during their stay were disappointed by the amount of traffic noise. The hotel is near a major roundabout which many guests identifies as the culprit of the noise.
