This is a good value hotel and well located. It's close to the Trindade metro in Porto and handy for excursions and the return journey to the airport. A three-day metro pass and bus route map (from the nearby tourist office) are excellent and minimal investments. It's a gentle, 20-minute stroll down to the river.
Rooms are clean and comfortably furnished. They also include a useful refrigerator and safe. WiFi is free and works well.
Breakfast is good with an emphasis on fresh breads and local produce. The coffee is excellent, as is the fresh orange juice. Hot and cold menu choices are offered. There are many bars and restaurants nearby and the excellent and friendly hotel staff members will advise depending upon your budget and preferences. Here, at the hotel, there is a later eating option with late night snacks from the bar.
Light sleepers may suffer if in rooms to the front of the hotel. Rear rooms are much quieter but, as you might expect, they don't have much of a view.
There's a tea/coffee maker in the room but there's no English tea ... either here or in any other part of the hotel. Solution: plan ahead and bring your own tea bags.
There is next to no drawer space in the room. Frustrating for the traveller who has to resort to living out of a suitcase … again. In the bathroom, don't expect complimentary toiletries - bring, or buy, your own.
