A good base.

Pollock Halls is nicely placed, in that you can get to the old town in about 15 minutes on foot. On top of this, you'll find yourself in close proximity to Arthur's Seat. There are bus services right outside the door as well.

The grounds which surround this building are really lovely and well kept. Also, the view of Arthur's Seat are delightful.

You might not get a space.

There is free parking at Pollock Halls, but only a limited number of spots, which are allocated on a first come, first served basis only, so if you get there too late, you might have to find somewhere else to park.

Disturbed sleep.

The doors at this hotel have a tendency to slam very loudly. This can get really annoying as guests tend to come and go all through the night. You might want to bring your earplugs.

Not the thickest.

The pillows here are rather on the thin side and not the most comfortable. Some of the mattresses feel slightly flimsy too.
