Hotel Plaza (Desenzano del Garda, Italy)

This was perhaps the most commonly mentioned positive feature. While there were some issues with noise, guests nonetheless loved the convenience of being in a relatively central position. The ferry to Sirmione could be caught just steps away, and the town centre, with its cafes, restaurants and bars was not much further.

The staff at the hotel were described as very welcoming and friendly, seemingly always ready to assist guests were they could.

While there were a few complaints on the cleanliness front, by far the majority of guests found their rooms very clean on arrival, and seemed to have no complaints that they weren't kept that way for the duration of their stay.

Going by the number of guest complaints, there must be something seriously wrong with the air conditioning units at the Plaza Hotel. Guest after guest said that they were essentially no use at all in the hot conditions of mid-summer, and needed to be repaired, or more likely replaced.

While the hotel doesn't strongly advertise its lake views, it does mention them. For most guests, the views in reality left a lot to be desired. The views, even from the top floor, were said to be obscured by trees and such.

While guests did like the central position for the convenience, they paid for it by having to endure some noise at night from the streets below. They complained both of revellers and passing cars along the main road disturbing their sleep at night.
