Hotel Phuket Kata Resort (Kata Beach, Thailand)

The pools are described as being in a fantastic courtyard full of palm trees and other greenery. To many guests this was the highlight of the property, and the kind of idyllic tropical environment that had brought them to Phuket in the first place.

While not described as anything fancy, most guests were very happy with the breakfast. It seems to have been varied, so they never got bored of it, and served in sufficient quantities to set them up for the day.

While not directly on the beach, this did not seem to bother any guests. They describe it as only a five minute walk away, and they never seemed to feel they were making some sort of journey to reach it. They could just stroll down.

There was some confusion about whether the Wi-Fi was supposed to work throughout the hotel, or just in the reception area. It seems some guests occasionally got a signal in their room, but even if right by reception they found that the quality was not good. It was either too slow, or the connection kept on breaking. It was an altogether frustrating experience.

A few guests mentioned that the staff really couldn't speak any English. While basic needs could be met, any sort of complicated query or issue was pretty much impossible to deal with.

Several guests mention that the whole place simply looks a bit “tired”. While things do seem to work, the chips, scratches and old fashioned décor gave them the impression of an unloved and uncared for property.
