The house of Niedere Burgstraße 3 belongs to Quartier 1, a group of buildings consisting of seven ständehouses. These were extensively renovated from 2005 to 2008. Today, 36 families, 4 restaurants and the guesthouse "Donatus" have their home in Quartier 1. Pension "Donatus" is located in the building of Niedere Burgstraße 3, a very valuable patrician residence of the Renaissance. Conversions in the interior and changes to the façade in the 17th century as well as a Baroque transformation from 1737 shape the image of the house, which consists of at least three previous buildings. It was thanks to the vicar of Putzkau Donatus Lange, who owned the house from about 1556 until about 1562, that our guests can take their breakfast in a room with historic wooden beamed ceilings.
