The hotel occupies an enviable position overlooking St Ives Bay thus ensuring extremely picturesque views from all of the rooms as well as the communal areas. Guests thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on the hotel’s terraces and taking in the stunning views as well as waking up to the sea views from their own windows.
The hotel is minutes away from the beach and the Harbour whilst the centre of St Ives is also a short walk away. Guests were pleased to find that they could leave their car in the car park and explore all the local attractions on foot.
Many guests who dined at the hotel restaurant complimented the quality of the food on the menu which featured plenty of local specialities such as sea food dishes and Cornish cream teas, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed by those who dined here. The cooked breakfasts were also said to be well prepared with generous size portions.
The rooms have been described as small and cramped with equally small bathrooms and showers. There was little space in the rooms for guests to stow away their belongings whilst many objected to feeling claustrophobic in the very cramped showers.
Some of the guests have complained about their rooms feeling too hot during the warmer summer months. Many were reluctant to open the windows due to noise from the gulls and local traffic.
The nearest car park is a few minute’s walk away from the hotel and needs to be pre-booked with reception in order to secure a space. Some guests were inconvenienced by having to walk from the car park to the hotel whilst carrying heavy bags.
