A quiet location yet close to attractions.

Pausania is located in the relatively quiet Dorsoduro district of Venice which is generally overlooked by tourists. By staying at this hotel you’ll be able to experience a more authentic Venetian way of life than you would in other areas more popular with tourists. At the same time, the famous tourist attractions including the Rialto Bridge and the Gallerie dell’Accademia museum are still easily reached on foot and if you take one of the water taxis that travel the length of the Grand Canal you will be able to visit other parts of Venice easily.

The members of staff are friendly and helpful. They also speak English so you won’t have any problems communicating.

The breakfast served at this hotel comes recommended. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious and the courtyard setting where it is served is charming.

Negative Reviews

No lift and narrow stairs.

It is worth noting that this hotel does not have a lift. Also, the stairs, which are an historic feature of the hotel, have been described as quite narrow. Guests with lots of luggage found navigating the stairs particularly difficult. If you find yourself in a similar situation here, remember to ask the staff for assistance as they are more than happy to help.

No Wi-Fi in rooms.

The Wi-Fi did not meet the expectations of some of the guests. There is no Wi-FI access in the rooms and the free Wi-Fi which is accessible in the lounge is slow and on occasions erratic.

Small bathrooms.

A few issues were reported with the en-suite bathrooms. Some guests felt the bathrooms were small and that the showers were not up to the job.
