Colourful too! The accommodation is attractively designed, colourful and brightly decorated. Cleaning is of a very high standard and there is a real ‘home from home' atmosphere about the place.

Breakfast is available until a civilised late hour of the morning. The meal itself is fine and well worth a small financial flutter. There's also the opportunity to socialise with other guests.

Visitors are here for the nightlife and the beach. Both are an easy walk from the hotel, so the location couldn't be better. Any friendly atmosphere is fuelled by the staff and here, the hotel scores highly again. It's a 10-minute walk to the gay nude beach ... and to the train station. A good tip is not to confuse the two!

In this busy street, crammed with late-night bars and restaurants, noise levels can be intense. This, though, is the reason why many guests stay here. There's also noise from neighbouring rooms, so there's obviously no internal soundproofing.

Beds are hard - fairly standard in Spain, though - and rooms can be cramped. The room size doesn't offer you the opportunity to spread out and unwind. It's worth a doubting tweet as to where the three-star rating might come from and the tariff is somewhat overpriced … certainly not chickenfeed!

Choose the room carefully, or repent at leisure as to why your room is very dark - cell-like - and with no windows. Others, though, are bright and sunny with an attractive balcony. It's well worth taking a little time to plan the visit in advance - or ask to see the room on arrival.
