The Pandora Hotel is situated in an elevated position in the historic district though only a short walk from the heart of St Peter Port. The hotel is conveniently positioned next to Victor Hugo's and the terraced gardens are tranquil and well-kept making it an ideal place to chill out and enjoy a drink. All bedrooms are equipped with a TV, radio, and coffee and tea making facilities. Hotel amenities include front and rear carpark, luggage storage, patio, and Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Full English and continental breakfasts are served daily. The hotel's restaurant also serves dinner with a selection of popular dishes plus vegetarian and gluten-free options. The menu changes regularly. Castle Cornet and La Vallette natural outdoor bathing pools are only a 10-minute stroll from the Pandora. St Martin and various tourist attractions are close by.
You will enjoy the hotel's location. You are close to the bus station as well. From the station you can tour Guernsey for very cheap. At the bottom of the hill is the main shopping centre and harbour for boats. There are a load of decent pubs and restaurants and plenty of night-life.
If you love gardens, you will be impressed with the hotel's garden. They are lovely terraced gardens and the building has an authentic old flair to it.
The hotel price is satisfactory and you get value for what you pay. The rooms are decent size, there is lots of parking in the front and back. Rooms and bathroom are a decent size as well. The breakfast is tasty and filling. If you get the room in the attic with the vaulted ceiling, you will have the best views over the entire port area including the castle.
There is no Wi-Fi in the rooms, so you have to go into the lobby. If there are too many people trying to use the connection, the Wi-Fi will time out. It's baffling that today facilities have such poor Wi-Fi, especially smaller facilities.
The extractor fan continues to run and it's loud. Not only that, you can hear everyone else's fan as well. For example, if anyone uses the bathroom, you can hear their fan and it runs for a quarter of an hour, even after it is switched off!
The hotel is on a steep hill, and the uphill walk is enough to wear you out.
