Hotel Okura Tokyo (Tokyo, Japan)

The staff at Hotel Okura provide exceptional customer service and go above and beyond to accommodate guests needs and requirements. They are friendly, engaging and knowledgeable about the area; they're more than happy to provide information or recommend places that may be of interest. All staff members, from those manning the 24-hour front desk to those working in the hotel's many restaurants are extremely personable and create a warm atmosphere that will make guests feel welcome upon arrival.

The hotel itself is beautifully maintained and the architecture is wonderful; the lobby is gorgeous and stylishly decorated the hotel's gardens are well-kept and scenic. Many guests were complimentary towards the hotel's décor which is indicative of the mid-century Japanese style. The rooms are similarly well-decorated and they are well-sized and comfortable. The pool area is clean and the hotel's numerous restaurants are all of a very high standard.

The hotel is next to the popular Roppongi district which is famous for its vibrant nightlife and entertainment scene. Guests are also within walking distance of a number of shops, bars and restaurants as well as the metro public transport system that can take them to the vast majority of Tokyo's numerous cultural landmarks and attractions with relative ease.

Many guests were disappointed that there was not a free breakfast provided by the hotel and they were also dismayed by the small breakfast area that led to overcrowding and the food on offer. However, some guest did enjoy the breakfast despite the charge.

The restaurants on-site, while of a high standard, are rather expensive though there are numerous dining options outside the hotel's grounds to visit.

Guests are charged to use the fitness facilities and swimming pool and many guests felt that these amenities should be included in the price.
