NH Maastricht is a large, busy establishment, yet the staff do all they can to uphold excellent standards of customer service. English is widely spoken among the team and they are polite and friendly at all times.
For many, breakfast at the hotel is one of its best features; with a variety of everything from cold cuts, fresh fruit and cereal to pastries and juices, on the buffet. You can also cook your own eggs, or take advantage of an 'early bird breakfast' if required.
Rooms vary in their style of décor, with some more modern than others but all are spacious and comfortable. Mattresses are, apparently, changed frequently and quality toiletries are supplied in the bathrooms, with hot water in plentiful supply.
The Town Centre is a twenty-minute walk along the river from the hotel, however, for some, it is too far to be convenient. Transport links are excellent though, with a bus stop directly opposite and the Randwyck Train Station a five-minute walk away.
The hotel is a popular choice for coach parties and your stay may be somewhat affected if your stay coincides with a group visit. Staff are excellent, but struggle to maintain a personal, individual service with so many others to deal with.
Despite their location inside the hotel premises, many guests are surprised that they have to pay over and above their room rates to access the spa facilities or gym. With the lack of suitable alternatives available nearby, some also feel that the hotel is capitalising on the monopoly they have over parking; charging guests substantially for the privilege.
