There was a wide variety of shops and dining options surrounding the property, which most guests found to be convenient. Those traveling without a car appreciated the easy access to MAX trains just five minutes' walk away for trains to downtown Portland.

Check-in was usually painless, although a few reviewers claimed they faced frustrations with booking mix-ups on arrival. Overall, reviewers were upbeat about the customer service, often describing personnel on reception as likeable, friendly and helpful.

Critics sometimes said there was work for management to do to raise maintenance and cleanliness standards. Some guests claimed a revamp was needed to address issues like worn linens, old mattresses, cigarette burns, ineffective air-conditioning and non-functioning lighting in certain rooms.
